Join the sugar plum fairy and Elodie this December as they battle the rat king, flutter through the pine forest and embark on a journey to the land of the sweets. Join us this Holiday season with “A Nutcracker Christmas.”

Have you ever wanted to be in The Nutcracker? Ages six and up can audition for Ballet LA from The Dance Center’s “A Nutcracker Christmas” 2026. Auditions will be Friday evening, September 11, 2026.

How do I audition for A Nutcracker Christmas?

Register for the audition via our online portal. A Nutcracker Christmas audition will be a flat fee of $10 per family. (If registering multiple children please email us at dancecenterauburn@yahoo.com

What Time is the audition?

4:00-4:30 – Check In – Ages 6-11 (Intro to Technique, Level 1 and Level 2)
4:30-5:30 – Audition Class – Ages 6-11 (Intro to Technique, Level 1 and Level 2)
5:00-5:30 – Check In – Ages 12-19 (Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5)
5:30-7:00 – Audition Class – Ages 12-19 (Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5)

Can I audition if i don’t dance with the dance center?

Yes! Anyone is welcome to audition for A Nutcracker Christmas, the staff at Ballet LA do our best to make a roll for everyone. Casting comes down to ability, availability, and costume sizing. Please note you will need to register via our portal making an account and paying the $10 auction fee.

What do i wear?

Female Ballet: Black leotard, pink tights, canvas ballet split-sole slippers (matches skin tone), black skirt, no baggy clothing, hair pulled back in a bun

Male Ballet: white fitted shirt, black tights or form fitting joggers, black canvas split-sole ballet slippers, no baggy clothing, hair pulled back if applicable
