Homeward & Summer Showcase

Ballet LA’s 2026 Summer Show will be presenting new works by Alexandra Hamby entitled “Homeward.” These works will feature company dancers as well as students from The Dance Center in Levels 3, 4, and 5. Act II of this show will present works from The Dance Center’s Summer Dance Camp and Summer Intensive.

“Homeward” will be part of the same show as The Summer Intensive and Summer Camp performance. Please scroll down for more information and how to participate.

Patrons will not be permitted to only attend Act II of the show. Tickets must be purchased for the entirety of the show. Ticket proof will need to be confirmed for both Act I and Act II.

About the Choreographer: 

Alexandra Hamby, a Maine native, graduated from Belhaven University in April of 2022, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Dance. She primarily concentrated on Modern Dance, Pedagogy, Choreography for the Camera and Photography. During her time at Belhaven she received extensive training under many dance professionals and had the opportunity to perform with Belhaven’s Dance Ministry Ensemble for two seasons. Alex also produced works for The Emerging Choreographer’s Concert and Collaborative Arts Concert at Belhaven University. Prior to her time at Belhaven, Alex trained for 15 years with The Dance Center. Participating in all the technique classes offered; performing in A Nutcracker Christmas, Student Choreography Showcase, and the annual Recital. Currently, Alex teaches dance at The Dance Center in a variety of techniques including ballet, modern, partnering, and jazz. Alex also serves as an assistant director, choreographer and senior company dancer for Ballet LA, choreographing, dancing and directing rehearsals for A Nutcracker Christmas, Cinderella, Off World, The Annual Student Recital, and now her most recent endeavor, Lost and Found.
